Stays abroad during the studies
For a consultation regarding opportunities to study abroad during your degree program (BA, MA SCA, and MA CREOLE), the Infocenter (Room A0405) is available every Tuesday during the semester from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You may also contact us via email at erasmus.ksa@univie.ac.at.
The International Office enables students at the University of Vienna to stay abroad through various mobility programmes. Some of these are briefly presented below:
- Erasmus+ Student Exchange to a partner university within Europe

- Erasmus+ Traineeships for a self-organised traineeship with relevance for your studies within Europe
- Application possible throughout the year (at least 6 weeks before the start of the traineeship)
- Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) with several universities; combining virtual components with short-term physical mobility (5-30 days)
- Non-EU Student Exchange Program for a study visit to a partner university in Australia, Canada, USA, Africa, Asia, Russia, Latin America, Ukraine, Israel
- Application deadline: October, November or February (depending on the country); May: Second application round for the summer semester
- Short-term grants abroad (KWA) as funding for research work on your thesis abroad (e.g. field research, work in archives, etc. for Master's thesis)
- Application deadline: 15 February, 15 May, 15 October
