International Track

To apply for the International Track, students at first have to be enrolled  in the MA CREOLE.

The International Track allows students to spend 2 semesters at one of the 5 partner universities. It differs from the National Track, since International Track students have to attend the summer Intensive Programme. The IP is a 2 week intensive course; more details on the IP will be published closer to the meeting on the website.

Interviews and consultation for  the International Track take place in January and at the beginning of March for the following academic year during the office hours of Prof. Çağlar and Mag. Kremmel (Attention: No office hours in February!) Students can only study at the partner university in the order of winter term – summer term, earliest starting with their third semester. For the application, the following documents should be prepared in advance:

  • CV
  • Research proposal (1 page A4), including reasons for the choice of partner university
  • Letter of Recommendation and agreement to supervise (preferably as part of the MA thesis registration) by a member of staff
  • proof of language proficiency (copy)

The specific language requirements can be found at https://erasmus.univie.ac.at/site/plaetze under each place. For that please choose as "Studienrichtung" Joint Program CREOLE. The exact number of places and universities will be published around mid-January.

However, to stay within the requested 4 semesters, students will have to undertake fieldwork and write their thesis during their stay abroad. Attention: In order to finish your studies in time, you have to pass the final MA-exam at the end of the forth semester, immediately after your return to Vienna.
